The new GES boss vows to collaborate with all stakeholders

Dr Eric Nkansah, the new Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has assured the government that he is ready to work tirelessly to improve the Service’s image.

Dr. Nkansah also promised to work closely with all stakeholders, including teacher unions, agencies, and other educational professional bodies.

He stated that having taught at various levels of education as well as experience as a Director at the Education Ministry, he was familiar with education development issues and eager to contribute to its advancement.

This was stated in a statement to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday, after Dr Nkansah introduced himself to the Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, as he assumed office following his appointment by the President last week.

He stated that he would meet with various stakeholders in the sector to share ideas for the sector’s development. Dr. Adutwum congratulated Dr. Nkansah on his appointment and promised to help him achieve the government’s goals for improving education.

He urged him to meet with the school’s teaching and non-teaching staff to learn about their grievances. “Go meet with the teachers and listen to them.” “If you make your employees happy, they will work very hard to get the best results for you,” he said. “In fact, teachers throughout the country deserve the best, and let us work hard to make them happy,” he said.
