The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, hold a Public Forum on the 2020 Budget Statement and Financial Estimates.
The forum, scheduled to be held at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences at 16 00 hours aims to share with the public the party’s views and perspectives on the budget as presented by Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta to Parliament last Wednesday.
“As a responsible Political Party and a government in waiting, we shall use this platform to constructively dissect and expose the several distortions contained in the Budget and justify why it must fast-track the exit of the deceptive, insensitive, corrupt, nepotistic and non-performing Akufo-Addo government,” a statement signed by Mr Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Officer has said.
It mentioned Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ketu South constituency and former Minister for Transport, Mr Fifi Kwetey; Cassiel Ato Forson; MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam constituency in the Central Region and a former Deputy Finance Minister who is also a member of the Finance Committee of Parliament as among speakers at the forum.
“And then there is Isaac Adongo, MP for Bolgatanga Central constituency in the Upper East Region and is a member of the Finance Committee of Parliament.
“We are by this release inviting the media, Civil Society Organizations and Ghanaians from all walks of life to attend and participate in this all-important programme.” the statement concluded.
