Several Organisations, Institutions, and Associations have joined in the national fight against the Novel Coronavirus Pandemic. One of which is the Wesley Girls’ High School Old Girls’ Association.

The Association has donated reusable lab overalls, face shield, shoe covers, nose and face mask, gloves, hair net, hand sanitisers, and veronica buckets to selected Health Facilities across Ghana.

The entire membership of the Old Girls’ Association of Wesley Girls’ High School said the move is to support in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in Ghana.

At the presentation, the National Vice President of the Association- Mrs Harriet Wereko-Brobby, admonished the front-line health workers to always keep themselves protected. Thus, if they are protected, their families will also be protected hence, the society at large.

Professor Afua A. J Hesse- National President of Wesley Girls’ High School Old Girls’ Association, mentioned that this is their widow’s mite to complement the efforts of government and trusts that these tokens will be put to good use.

She urged all and sundry to observe the World Health Organisation (WHO) safety protocols and stay at home, in order not to overburden our health personnel and our health facilities.

The presentation which was done at the Association’s Secretariat located at the Methodist Headquarters witnessed the presence of the following health facilities; Korle-Bu Polyclinic, Pentecost Hospital, Manna Mission, C & J Hospital, Maamobi General Hospital, Samalla Clinic, Dua Clinic, Danpong Medical Centre, Akunye Memorial hospital at Pusiga in the Bawku municipality, Cape Coast University Hospital, just to mention a few.

Representatives of these health facilities expressed their gratitude to the Association for their support.

The Novel Coronavirus is transmitted through direct contact with respiratory droplets of an infected person. Therefore the entire membership of the Old Girls’ Association of Wesley Girls’ High School – Cape Coast, is encouraging all patriotic citizens of Ghana to Stay Home, observe all the WHO safety protocols, stay safe, and finally Live pure, Speak true, and Right wrong and Follow the King as their school motto says.
